Despite appearing only in one episode, Claire became a fan favorite. The episode titled “Indelible” flashed back to her death in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The season 8 finale is slated to air in May.

Actors Judd Hirsch, Ryan O’Nan, C.S. Lee, Jaime Ray Newman, Caroline Lagerfelt, and Joseph Lyle Taylor have all joined the flight of The Red Robin feature film, which begins shooting outside Philadelphia on December 3rd.

The Red Robin will be directed and produced by screenwriter Michael Z. Wechsler. The psychological thriller is Executive Produced by Jonathan Sanger (The Producers, The Elephant Man), Rick Porras (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and Shawn Singh.

O’Nan will play Tommy Shellner, the adopted adult son of Hirsch’s Nathaniel Shellner, a famed, and dying, trauma psychiatrist who was rumored to have done some confidential work for the CIA during the Cold War. A family reunion on Nathan’s death bed spirals into chaos when Tommy accuses his father of adopting his large family of children for the purposes of dark experiments in mind control.

C.S. Lee, who plays forensic investigator Vince Masuka, on “Dexter,” will portray Harry Shellner, the adopted brother of O’Nan’s Tommy.

Judd Hirsch earned an Academy Award nomination for his work playing a psychiatrist previously in Ordinary People, but his role as Nathaniel Shellner may reveal a far darker side of the same profession. Some of the many highlights of Hirsch’s long and distinguished career include his two Emmys for his work in “Taxi,” a Golden Globe for his work in the series “Dear John,” and a Tony Award for Conversations With My Father. He is currently appearing on “Damages.”

Earlier this year, O’Nan wrote, directed, and starred in The Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best, playing half of a fictional musical duo with Michael Weston. Rhino Records was so taken with the Brooklyn Brothers that they signed O’Nan and Weston to record under their fictional band name shortly after the first festival screening. O’Nan also recently starred in Freelancers, with Robert De Niro and Forrest Whitaker. In January, O’Nan will shoot The Frozen Ground in Alaska, appropriately enough, opposite Nicolas Cage, and will then appear in the feature The Iceman, opposite Michael Shannon and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Jaime Ray Newman, who starred previously on “General Hospital,” “Eastwick,” and “Drop Dead Diva,” will play the role of Julie Shellner, the daughter of the family.

Caroline Lagerfelt of “Gossip Girl” has also joined the cast as Lillian Shellner, the matriarch of the Shellner house.

Joseph Lyle Taylor, who will shortly be seen as one of In Bruges writer-director Martin McDonagh’s Seven Psychopaths, will play the role of Leonard, the one biological child of the family.

The first of Newman’s consecutive episodes airs Tuesday, Nov. 8, when Burke meets the NCIS team and starts to work closely with them on the investigation a military plane crash.

If perchance things don’t get particularly hairy for Newman as a woman of the cloth, there’s this: On or around the time she begins her NCIS run, the actress will also guest-star on an episode of NBC’s new supernatural drama, Grimm, which bows Friday, Oct. 28. There, she will play blutbad Angelina, one of the episode’s titular “Three Bad Wolves.”

Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) comes to terms with the events of that day during a dedication at the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance, on the eighth season premiere of “CSI: NY,” Friday, Sept. 23 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Synopsis : Set in present-day Portland, Oregon, the series puts a new twist on the stories of the Brothers Grimm in which a homicide detective learns that he is a descendent of a group of hunters known as “Grimms”, who fight to keep the balance of humanity safe from the supernatural creatures of the world. Upon learning of his destiny and that he is the last of his kind, he has to protect every living soul from the sinister storybook characters that have infiltrated the real world.

She will appear in one episode as a badass werewolf (and she will ride a motorcycle!). Jaime is actually shooting her scenes in Portland.

Former General Hospital and Eastwick star Jaime Ray Newman has been tapped to play Claire Taylor, the wife Mac (Gary Sinise) lost during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. As we previously reported, Claire will appear in flashbacks during the show’s Season 8 premiere, which honors the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

“We’re taking all of our characters back to that day,” executive producer Pam Veasey tells us. “You get to see them together. You see why Claire loved Mac, and why Mac loved her.”

Veasey also hinted that Mac’s moments of reflection may offer him some inspiration to look for love again. “We’ve had a few women in the past pursue Mac,” she says. “We like the idea of maybe seeing Mac being the pursuer.”

Newman is best known for her work as Kristina Cassadine on General Hospital and the bewitching Kat Gardener on ABC’s short-lived Eastwick. She has also had recurring roles on such shows as Veronica Mars, Stargate Atlantis, Eureka, and, most recently, Drop Dead Diva.

CSI: NY returns Friday, Sept. 23 at 9/8c on CBS.

“We call Season 3 the return of the diva, and by that we mean Jane has really come to terms with who she is,” creator Josh Berman tells TVGuide.com. “She no longer looks in the mirror and feels shame. She looks in the mirror and feels pride. She’s really owning who she’s become as a mature woman.”

On Jane’s to-do list this season: deal with the aftermath of Grayson’s accident (he survives!), and then face his impending nuptials to Vanessa (Jaime Ray Newman), who has foiled Jane’s quest to be with Grayson (Jackson Hurst).

“Vanessa and Jane have a heartfelt conversation and you realize Vanessa is not necessarily the strong, independent woman that we made her out to be,” Berman says. “She has some insecurities that emerge.” Part of those doubts spring from Jane and Grayson’s relationship, but Berman insists the ladies will not come to blows.

As for the wedding, Berman says the 24 hours leading up to the couple’s big day are not so perfect. “The preparation for the wedding and the wedding itself is constantly full of hitches, but the actual wedding is a beautiful ceremony,” he says.

But let’s not get too carried away. Don’t forget that, as we first reported, Jane and Grayson will end up in bed together this season — and it may not be a dream sequence this time around. Before that, though, Jane will have to rediscover her feelings for Grayson.

“We have one episode this season where Jane and Grayson get in a huge fight in the middle of the bull pen at Harrison and Parker,” he says. “Jane is shocked by some of the opinions that Grayson has because she gets to see him as a co-worker as opposed to a boyfriend. It makes her have second thoughts about what her feelings were.”

As if she didn’t have enough problems with her own love life, Jane will also have to assist her guardian angel Fred (Ben Feldman) in his relationship with Stacy (April Bowlby). “Jane actually has to become Fred’s sex coach because he’s never had sex before,” Berman says with a hearty chuckle. “So Jane literally has to teach Fred how to have sex with a woman.”

Drop Dead Diva premieres Sunday at 9/8c on Lifetime.

Have the producers really heard the fans’ outcry wanting Jane and Grayson together or is this just a dream? Though the show is known for taking a liberty or two with dream sequences, don’t assume their hookup is just in Jane’s head.

It’s a big leap for Jane and Grayson, considering how they left off in the Season 2 finale. He had a near-fatal accident after running into the street after Jane, who was crushed when he asked her to be the best man at his now-upcoming wedding to Vanessa (Jaime Ray Newman).

Before getting under the sheets, though, the pair will have to navigate their way back to each other. Not only is Grayson still engaged to Vanessa — and Episode 4 is called “The Wedding” — but Jane may reconsider Grayson as her soul mate.

“She now begins to see Grayson through more mature eyes,” Berman says, “and it might make her question her love for him. We have one episode this season where Jane and Grayson get in a huge fight in the middle of the bull pen at Harrison and Parker. Jane is shocked by some of the opinions that Grayson has because she gets to see him as a co-worker as opposed to a boyfriend. It makes her have second thoughts about what her feelings were.”

As for whether Jane will finally reveal the truth about her identity to Grayson, Berman simply teases, “I’m not going to tell you that Grayson doesn’t find out this season.”
